12D T1 - Registered Moving Works ( T1 )

Course Aim:

To provide the necessary technical knowledge and skills in order for delegates to be able to implement the correct traffic management requirements to undertake moving and short duration minor works.

Abrasive wheels – Safe use & mounting

This training course is broken down into 4main sections:

  • An Introduction to Abrasive Wheels
  • There are many different types of machines within industry that utilise abrasive wheels, each designed to be used in different ways. This section looks at the dangers involved with their use, legislation, and the responsibilities of both employer and employee.
  • The Types of Abrasive Wheels.
  • We look at the differences between abrasive wheels, the physical make up of a wheel –grain type and size, wheel hardness, different types of bonds, and wheel identification.
  • Choosing the Right Wheel, Inspection, Mounting & Balancing.
  • Selecting the right abrasive wheel for the job is important, followed by correctly setting up and installing the abrasive wheel, including ring testing and correct mounting.
  • Wheel Safety and Use.
  • This section covers the ‘do’s and don’ts’ of using abrasive wheels safely, including dressing wheels, starting machines up, methods of use, storage and transportation.

    Attachment Theory and Intervention

    This course is designed to consider the models of attachment theory starting with Bowlby, Lorenz and Ainsworth and then progressing to the ABC model. Participants will consider how young people experience attachment issues and how these impact upon them as children and through their adult life.

    Caring for Unaccompanied Minors

    This course will aim to assist carers to gain an understanding of the complexities and challenges associated with Unaccompanied Child Asylum Seekers. Reflecting on legislation, personal stories and factual data, the course aims to identify and explore the issues currently faced by young people, foster carers and professionals. Participants will cover areas of social and cultural isolation faced by young people who have been displaced from their country of birth and their families, whilst exploring the issues faced by carers and the young people as they approach adulthood.

    Child Sexual Modern Slavery

    Child Sexual Exploitation is a serious issue which impacts on hundreds of children who are in looked after care and many others at risk. Many children have been exposed to experiences and abuse which has a long lasting and traumatic impact and therefore need very individual and therapeutic support.

    Disability – Inclusive Practice

    This course focusses on the protected characteristic of disability. It provides a space where delegates can explore best practice in managing disabled people, and is designed and delivered by a former wheelchair-user. It can act as a stand-alone module or be combined with three related workshops to create a comprehensive programme on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

It will also act as a refresher in a topic that is continually evolving. It can act as a stand-alone module or be combined with three related workshops to create a comprehensive programme.
