Support for Met with National Investigators Exam

Mar 21, 2022

The Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) have awarded a contract through the managed training service with training provider Premier Partnership to Red Snapper Learning (RSL) to provide them with a quality National Investigators Exam (NIE) study support product aiding the learning journey of approximately one thousand aspiring detectives each year, with a cohort of over 400 signed up ahead of the March 2022 exams.

The MPS are determined to offer their officers on the Detective Constable Pathways and those applying through the traditional Trainee Detective Constable route the best support available to achieve their goals and the purpose of the NIE is to identify the candidates who have sufficient levels of knowledge, understanding and application of relevant law and procedure to perform effectively in the professionalising investigations programme phase two (PIP2) and as a trainee investigator.

Within the contract that has been awarded on a year on year basis for the next three years, candidates will see RSL provide a blend of digital study aides, virtual seminars and classrooms, mock exams and mentor services, and they will take the approach that that every candidate is capable of passing the NIE exam.

Kylie Wilson, the RSL Head of Learning, commenting on the award stated: ‘We are delighted to be working with the MPS to provide a service which will have a direct impact on the career aspirations of officers and ultimately the safety and service to London. We would like to thank the MPS for the confidence they have placed in RSL. We will ensure we provide a service which surpasses expectations.’

This is another project that is being run through the METs partnership with Premier Partnership. Client Relationship Director Kyle Hughes said ‘Premier Partnership work tirelessly with the MPS as their managed service provider for training to ensure that L&D provision is to the highest standard and we are delighted to partner with Red Snapper on this project. We look forward to meeting the needs and exceeding the expectations of the MPS and are confident that each candidate will receive the tailored support they need to pass the NIE exam’.
