Overview
The aim of course is to provide individuals responsible for undertaking accident investigations with an understanding of:
– How to conduct an accident investigation.
– How this should be recorded.
– How to influence the development of organisational safety management systems and the effective control of risk.
Learning
- By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:
- Name your duties under the Health and Safety at Work Act, as they apply to accident investigation.
- Record the three stages of an accident investigation.
- Name how to identify the direct causes of an accident and the purpose of accident investigations.
- Identify how safety management systems failures are investigated and name relevant sources of information used for investigating accidents.
- Name which accidents should be reported to RIDDOR.
- Identify who needs to know about results of an accident investigation.
