Overview
This course provides staff with an understanding of the basic principles, procedures and responsibilities of being a Fire Warden/Marshal.
Learning
- By the end of the course delegates will be able to:
- Understand fire regulations.
- Be aware of their role and responsibilities.
- Be aware of human behaviour involving fires.
- Understand the chemistry of fire.
- Assess the risks from fire hazards and how to spot them.
- Understand the fire safety features within buildings.
- Understand the different types of extinguisher and how to use them.
- Have the knowledge of what action to take if needed in an emergency?.
- Conduct fire checks and keep records.
- Organise safe evacuation procedures.
Assessment
Qualitative assessment by tutor (For example: observations or demonstrations throughout course)
