Overview
To develop practical and appropriate facilitation skills to use in the workplace.
Learning
- Understand the various facilitation skills, styles and tools.
- Understand the concept of, and what contributes to, good and effective facilitation.
- Critique their own facilitation style and skills, and better understand the range available when facilitating remotely.
- Balance the process and emotional demands of facilitation.
- Deal with conflict and keep a group motivated.
- Develop confidence in facilitation, particularly when delivering via remote platforms.
- Leave with tangible action plans that will make a real difference to their own performance as a facilitator.
Assessment
Qualitative assessment by tutor (For example: observations or demonstrations throughout course)
Requirements
- A short reflection and piece of research is required and will be discussed during the virtual session we will be using the outcome during the event.
Consider:
- Strengths you have as a facilitator.
- How facilitating via a remote platform is/could be different to working face to face.
- What your specific objectives are for the session.
