COSHH Awareness

Overview

To give learners an awareness of the dangers and control measures for hazardous substances at work.

Learning

• At the end of this workshop delegates will have:
• The information to allow them to interpret the UK legislative requirements relevant to the use and storage of hazardous substances in their workplace.
• Knowledge of the range of substances in the workplace that relate to COSHH.
• A good understanding of COSHH signage with reference to handling and storing substances.
• Knowledge of relevant control measures available to reduce the risks associated with hazardous substances in order to prevent ill health.

Assessment

Qualitative assessment by tutor (For example: observations or demonstrations throughout course)
