Preparing for Management

Overview

To help participants transition into the role of a work or staff manager and be effective. Also aimed at technical specialists who are expanding into managerial roles for the first time.

Learning

• By the end of this workshop delegates will be able to:
• Understand what management means.
• Identify the role and key responsibilities of a Manager.
• Describe what good management looks like and the skills, behaviours, mindset and beliefs that an effective staff and work manager needs to demonstrate to maximise theirs and others’ potential.

Qualitative assessment by tutor (For example: observations or demonstrations throughout course)
