Overview

Enable staff to handle and administer medication safely.

Learning

  • By the end of this course delegates will:
  • Understand the legal objectives relating to administering medication.
  • Understand the CQC Fundamental Standards (which came into force in adult care in April 2015) and how they apply to administering medication.
  • Administer medication to service users safely.
  • Identify any adverse reactions and how to respond to them.
  • Record all aspects of administering and monitoring medication.

Assessment

Qualitative assessment by tutor (For example: observations or demonstrations throughout course)
