Overview
To enable delegates to prepare and lead meetings that are productive and outcome focused.
Learning
- Identified the most common purposes of meetings and the different roles people hold in meetings.
- Explored the importance of identifying if a meeting is even needed and, if so, who to invite (to avoid wasting peoples time).
- Considered what planning and preparation can help ensure cost
- effective meetings.
- Reflected on the importance of having a strong personal outcome orientation.
- Foster on purpose and focused behaviour and avoid distractions/tangents within meetings.
- Considered how to facilitate meetings to encourage participation, to reach agreement and/or to make decisions in a polite and respectful way.
- Explored how to manage difficult behaviours or situations.
- Discussed the Chairpersons responsibilities after the meeting has finished.
