This course will explore initial assessments and how they feed into risk management plans. This training culminates in how to devise an effective support utilising a person-centred approach and focusing towards successful outcomes. Safeguarding management, effective planning and assessment are key to success for all organisations and any plans should seek to empower professionals to make decisions which fit with ‘defensible decision making’ and effective practice utilising a multi-agency approach.

This training will provide participants with an understanding of social pedagogy and how to underpin these principles within the areas of safeguarding and will introduce models of effective safeguarding through the NSPCC. The success of such an approach can be evidenced in many areas of Europe and has been adopted nationally through organisations such as Derbyshire Looked After Children and are in line with modern safeguarding tools.
