Course Information

This is a program of interactive, insightful and practical virtual half-day modules, spread over a 2-4 month period, that will provide your supervisors and team leaders and first line managers with a fantastic springboard in order to lead, manage and motivate their teams to outstanding success in the transforming environment where hybrid working is now the norm. The course will include enjoyable and illuminating exercises, discussions on important matters facing delegates, and syndicate group activities.

Learning:

  • Understand the rights, roles and responsibilities of a first line manager
  • Recognise and understand their own leadership styles and the impact that their style may have on the individual and the results achieved
  • Fully appreciate the differences between the distinct behaviours and activities of management and leadership
  • Productively manage the transition from being one of the many to one of the few
  • Link and visibly adopt the corporate values and apply these to their own conduct and behaviour
  • Be able to model the way, such that others see them as the template that they would wish to emulate
  • Understand what emotional intelligence is and how it applies to their management style, as well as being able to develop their own emotional intelligence yet further
  • Acquire feedback tools for providing accurate and meaningful feedback, with clear commitments to new and or adaptative behaviour/performance
  • Manage day to day performance and disciplinary matters pertaining to individuals and the team, in an effective and legally compliant manner
  • Handle difficult and challenging situations well
  • Manage personal stress and wellbeing for oneself and the team
  • Manage individual and organisational change effectively
  • Develop high performance and motivated teams in the hybrid working environment
  • Establish and agree specific, compelling and motivational goals for the team and individuals
  • Acquire the skills and practices essential to developing individual potential and sustain the development of team members through a quick, simple yet highly effective coaching technique that can be used when providing both formal and informal support

    Sharps and Blood Bourne Viruses

    To provide essential safety information for staff at risk from sharps and blood bourne viruses.

  • Be aware of blood bourne viruses and how you could be infected
  • Identify the hazards associated with sharps and needlesticks
  • Identify situations where you may be exposed to sharps and needle sticks and know safe precautions to take
  • Explore company policy and legal outlines on the management of sharps
  • Understand what to do if you suffer a puncture injury
  • Understand how to store and dispose of sharps and needlesticks
  • Qualitative assessment by Tutor.
